Read ArticleA Pokemon aficionado recently found a small, but crushing detail in Pokemon Black 2 that may have been overlooked. This news came on the same day that rumors about Pokemon Black and White remakes began to surge again.
Last October marked a decade since the launch of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, two RPGs for the Nintendo DS that have the highest average review scores for the mainline Pokemon games. Many fans of the iconic franchise consider these two as their favorite versions of the series, thanks to the difficulty of the games and their immersive world building.
Recently, Reddit user NevGuy discovered a poignant moment in Pokemon Black 2 that showed how immersive the game could be. During the main quest, they came across a boy and a girl playing tag next to the Humilau City Pokemon Center. After they became champion, they returned to the same area to find the boy all alone. Speaking to him caused him to talk about how important it is to treat every moment with close friends as if it were the last, hinting that the girl had passed away. News of the discovery spread quickly on social media, with some users bringing up that Pokemon White 2 had the same issue.
It is prophesied that after the launch of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in 2021, the Fifth Generation of Pokemon will most likely be the next to get remade. This is due to the fact that since 2010, when Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver were first released, Game Freak has been producing remakes of different games every three to four years. Consequently, the revivals of Pokemon Black and White, or more likely Black 2 and White 2, are projected to be launched by 2025. This is assuming that Game Freak is not concentrated on the Let’s Go Second Generation games at the present moment.
Although Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were the first Pokemon games not developed by Game Freak, it appears that the upcoming remakes will be handled internally. This is because the Japanese studio that was responsible for making Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, ILCA, is currently working on a new Ace Combat title. ILCA was established in 2010, and as of 2020, it has roughly 250 employees; however, it has not taken on multiple projects at the same time.
The Nintendo DS version of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 is on sale now.
