For those having difficulty being a good citizen in Cyberpunk 2077, a mod has just been released that penalizes players for killing an NPC. Despite launching in late 2020 to a lot of controversy, the futurescape RPG has seen a resurgence of fans due to improvements of the game. Thankfully, with the lawsuit against CD Projekt Red’s settling for $1.85 million, it seems as if this negative experience can be left in the past, allowing the Polish developer to move ahead in a positive direction.

Just recently, there were whispers about Cyberpunk 2077 arriving in Xbox Game Pass. However, upon closer examination of the image that ostensibly insinuated the game’s presence on the Microsoft platform, it became obvious that it was from an earlier time. Therefore, CDPR’s title probably won’t be included in the service, but many supporters are still pinning their hopes and dreams on it. Thankfully, the game has seen a significant resurgence since being updated, and there have been some mods available to keep the gameplay interesting.

Reverend Ursa, who was featured by PCGamesN, created a new modification for Cyberpunk 2077 entitled Instant Karma. This mod is designed to make players act peacefully in Night City, as they will die if they commit any murder. It should be noted that this only applies to human NPCs; killing creatures or switching over to Johnny Silverhand’s character wont activate the karma feature. Additionally, incapacitating characters would also not trigger Instant Karma.

Even though Cyberpunk 2077 is known for its grittiness and violent depictions, it is still possible to take a pacifist route, barring somestoryline moments. It may be particularly difficult for gamers who like to shoot their way through open-world games, but the Instant Karma mod can compel them to change their tactics and think more carefully about how they resolve different situations.

Cyberpunk 2077 offers a lot of possibilities to fans of role-playing games, not just in the form of mayhem and bloodshed. Instead, players benefit from the massive range of options on offer and are free to attempt a different alternative, avoiding the violent tendencies found in other titles. CD Projekt Reds release may lean towards the more savage end of the spectrum, but it’s still possible to opt for a more peaceful route.

Cyberpunk 2077 can now be acquired on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
