Fortnite has already ended the ability to hurdle.

Epic Games released a hefty patch in Fortnite this week that reintroduced multiple weapons and mechanics, including Burst Assault Rifles, hurdling, and the Shockwave Hammer. Unfortunately, the Shockwave Hammer has caused a lot of issues and has been disabled by Epic Games only days after the update.

For those who have kept up with the game, the reappearance of the hammer and the gun would have been conspicuous. It might have gone unnoticed that hurdling was taken out and then returned. This feature is straightforward and effortless, allowing players to leap over low walls and objects to make it easier to move around the map.

It appears that implementing this mechanic is not as straightforward as many originally thought, because it continues to cause a variety of issues for Epic. Hurdling has been removed again, and while it was not explicitly stated, it appears that the multiple grievances, along with video proof in a few cases, may have been the cause of the feature’s removal. The update says that people can still climb over higher objects, and that they are working on a solution to fix the issue with hurdling.

For those who have not felt the impact of Fortnite’s difficulties or those who didn’t even realize it existed, the primary challenge is the mechanic that sends players up into the clouds. RoyalMannequins posted a video showing a player leaping over something and suddenly being propelled into the sky. Even though they weren’t shown landing, they probably were eliminated when they reached the bottom.

As recorded, the inclusion of hurdling in Fortnite was not the sole addition to this week’s update. Following a brief departure, the much-debated Shockwave Hammer has been restored to the game. Adjustments were made to the item, leading to divergent opinions from players. Some declare that it is overpowered, while others hold the exact opposite belief.
