Industry professionals have confirmed that the video game Redfall will be released on May 2, 2023, supporting earlier claims that the game would launch sometime in May rather than the original proposed date in March.
This was made known by leaker eXtas1s, famous for passing on details about Hideo Kojima’s covert project, Overdose. Insider Brad Sams additionally seconded this revelation by having a coincidental tweet. This tallies with recent information that Redfall was held back another time, but is now scheduled for a May launch.
Brad Sams appears to be suggesting that the video game Redfall will be launching on May 2 by posting a series of emojis that form the words “Red Fall Second May”.
Redfall will only be released for the Xbox, and it will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass from launch. Additionally, it looks like there will be an early access period for the game, comparable to Forza Horizon, though only for a short amount of time.
Redfall is the flagship title of Xbox’s 2023 releases, putting a massive amount of stress on Arkane Studios. In a discussion, they also described the Game Pass launch as “startling and frightening” because it will lead to an influx of commentary as soon as players experience what they created during the pandemic.
The creators of the game have indicated that it is mostly akin to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Far Cry 2, although some people may compare it to Left4Dead. Richard Bare, who co-oversaw the project, cited Borderlands, Dungeons & Dragons, and Diablo as influences that helped craft the cooperative aspect of the title.
It is probable that more information about the game will be revealed on January 25, 2023, for Xboxs Developer Direct Showcase. Starfield, which is a larger undertaking, may be skipped in the event and may have its own separate presentation at a future date.
