Nintendo has been sending out emails to get followers to play Super Mario Odyssey again, raising speculation that an update is coming soon. Hopeful fans believe the company could be testing the waters for DLC or a second version of the game, perhaps in connection to the premier of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2021.
People are passing along emails that urge them to purchase the 2017 videogame. The emails even hint that there could be more content yet to be uncovered. This has ignited some optimism that Nintendo may release a surprise patch for the game, similar to what they did with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, thereby making an old title fresh again.
The initial foray of Mario into the Nintendo Switch was very novel, reads what is circulating on the net. Mario’s journey through the Mushroom Kingdom was quite the experience.
The game keeps people engaged, making them want to discover more. Maybe it’s worth taking the journey of The Odyssey again to see what else is out there.
The email recaps all of the objects and places in the game that the player may have missed the first go-around. However, if this message is being delivered to people who already bought the game, it is perplexing why Nintendo is motivating them to play again with no new announcement coming, considering they will not earn any additional money off those players.
It’s not unreasonable to expect Nintendo to revisit an older game and add content, instead of changing something that works, after such a long period of time. The upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie gives Nintendo a chance to appeal to a broader range of people, and it’s slated to come out in April.
It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it appears that something related to the game may be on the horizon. On whether or not it will come to fruition, we will have to wait until nearer the launch date of the movie.
