Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have changed the way Ultra Beasts are categorized.

The files for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been altered so that the Ultra Beasts are no longer classified as sub-legendaries, which is the coding used by Game Freak when categorizing certain Pokemon as existing within the legendary group. We already know that although all Mythical Pokemon are legendary, not every legendary Pokemon is a mythical one. Moreover, there are certain Legendary Pokemon that do not hold the same stature as the premier box mascots. This shift could be an indication that a big change is coming soon when Ultra Beasts are added to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through downloadable content.

It is worth considering that the Paradox Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violets were not classified as sub-legendaries. This could mean that Game Freak is no longer attaching this label to specific Pokemon, since Ultra Beasts used to be seen as legends in recent generations. It is notable that these creatures appear alongside legendary Pokemon in the Crown Tundra DLC of Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Investigation of the Paradox Pokemon’s inner categorization by Twitter user Kurt (shown below) brought to light that Ultra Beasts were not sub-legendary. This might be indicating potential upcoming DLC, since Ultra Beasts are known to be frequent in another realm. Although it is improbable that gamers will go to Ultra Space in entirety in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet add-ons, it would make sense to explain why they are so common there. That being said, Ultra Beasts seem to be the most convincing thing to come in the DLC. As soon as players finish the Gen 9 Pokedex, they receive a Beast Ball which, to date, has not been utilized in the game.

It may be logical to examine how Ultra Beasts are portrayed when they are introduced to the game, as it is possible the language surrounding them could change for many reasons. Ultra Beast has a unique meaning in itself, as they offer more difficult content and have special features. People noticed that Pokemon GO excludes Ultra Beasts from its legendary collection, which is not certain proof, but still noteworthy.

No matter what, although the precise particulars are still being finalized by Game Freak and The Pokemon Company, people can be sure that the news about DLC will be out shortly. It is thought that Pokemon Day in February is probably the most probable moment and the same two new games that had been in Pokemon Sword and Shield is likely to be released. A great number of enthusiasts are hoping for more connected lineups, Paradox Pokemon, and narrative improvements but it’s basically confirmed that Ultra Beasts will be included in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC under any circumstances.
