Skyblivion has set a launch date of 2025 for its projected release.

The group of modders behind Skyblivion had been asked multiple times when their project, which is trying to reconstruct Oblivion inside of Skyrim’s software (not to be confused with Morroblivion, which is moving Morrowind over to Oblivion’s programming, or Skywind, which is transporting Morrowind over to Skyrim’s engine), would be finished. The most recent footage supplies a verified general release year announcement, declaring Skyblivion will be done by 2025. This is likely to occur before we get The Elder Scrolls 6.

It is plain that the release of Skyblivion will happen by 2025 at the latest, as is evident from the description seen on YouTube. Making video games takes a lot of time, particularly if it is a volunteer project of AAA game quality, which requires a whole team of developers who take years to create it. Having said that, we are excited to reveal that Skyblivion is already in a state where we can guarantee that it will be out by 2025.

With this trailer for Skyblivion, we are counting on more volunteers to join the project, which could lead to an earlier release date than 2025. We are optimistic that this will happen, with your help in bringing the project to completion. If things go well, it could even be released before the projected time frame.

A viewing of the trailer is an abrupt realization that Skyrim is well over ten years old, and its age certainly shows. Having said that, there is something captivating about observing the same places and people from Oblivion with a bit of a more modern touch. The trailer displays the bright-white stones of the Imperial City, providing a glimpse of the tutorial dungeon at its other side, along with a few separate encounters with the Dark Brotherhood, and many gigantic creatures, goblins, deceased beings, and dremora that you might somewhat vaguely recall defeating in Oblivion while attempting not to level up too hastily and disrupt its scaling set-up.

Rebelzize, one of the developers, left a comment under the trailer saying it is likely they will surpass their predictions, as long as they have sufficient spare time for the project and enough people offer to lend a hand. If someone wants to join in, visiting the volunteer page of Skyblivion contains all the appropriate details.

When Skyblivion is released, it will require users to have both the Skyrim Special Edition and the Oblivion game, in addition to all its downloadable content, to be able to play it.
